1 cup firm cranberries
4 T sugar
2 cups sifted flour
¼ cup sugar
2½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 egg
1 cup milk
2 T melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Grease the bottoms of 12 muffin pan walls.
Wash and finely chop cranberries. Mix with 4 T sugar and set aside.
Sift together flour, ¼ cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
Beat the egg until thick and piled softly.
Beat in milk.
Stir in butter.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the liquid ingredients all at once. Add cranberry mixture.
Quickly and lightly stir mixture until barely moistened. Batter will be lumpy.
Fill muffin wells ⅔ full.
Bake at 425º for 20 to 25 minutes or wooden toothpick comes out clean.
