Crab and Cream Cheese Appetizer |

Ingredients: 1 (8-ounce) pkg. cream cheese 1 TBS lemon juice 1 TBS horseradish, or to taste½ ½ cup sour cream 1 (12-ounce) jar cocktail sauce 2 (6½ oz) cans flaked crabmeat, drained

Directions:Stir together all ingredients except cocktail sauce and spread on a large plate, top with cocktail sauce. Serve with crackers. I like Triscuits.
Note: Baby shrimp may be substituted for crabmeat. |

Stuffed Mushrooms |

Ingredients: 18 large mushrooms, stems removed 2 teas Old Bay Seasoning™ 1 TBS chopped parsley 2 slices white bread, minced (crust removed) 1 egg, slightly beaten. 1 pound crabmeat 2 TBS olive oil ½ teas Worcestershire sauce ¼ teas mayonnaise ¼ cup melted butter Dash of Tabasco sauce

Directions:Sauté mushroom caps in olive oil for 2-minutes. Place in shallow casserole stem side up. Combine filling ingredients and stuff mushroom caps. May be refrigerated until ready to bake. Baste with butter and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Serve HOT! |

Notes: Whether you are going to a party and need something to bring, or if all of a sudden you have a knock at your door, this Crabmeat appetizer is a great quick snack. When Suzanne and I married, this was our favorite standby snack when entertaining or to take to a party. Another of my favorite and most requested appetizer to prepare is my Crab Stuffed Mushroom recipe. When my grandmother turned "100", this was what everyone wanted me to bring.
