2 squares unsweetened chocolate
½ cup butter (1 cube)
1 cup boiling water
Heat together in top of double boiler until chocolate is melted and mixture is glossy when beaten (about 10 minutes).

Place in bowl and 2 cups sugar, ½ t. salt, 2 cups sifted cake flour, 1 ½ teasps. baking soda, ½ cup buttermilk, 2 eggs beaten. Beat well for 2 minutes. Cut with knife to remove bubbles when in pan.

Bake in 2- 8' pans for 30-35 minutes at 350*. Or in 9” x 13” pan. Batter is very thin.
