MERINGUE CRUST:

2 egg whites- room temperature
¼ tsp cream of tartar
½ cup sugar
½ tsp vanilla
½ cup pecans, chopped

FILLING:

1-8 ounce pkg dark, semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips-Use Gittard
3 Tbsp water

MERINGUE CRUST:

Beat egg whites foamy, then beat in cream of tarter. Gradually add sugar. Beat well until stiff. Add vanilla and fold in pecans. Put in to a BUTTERED 8-9 inch pie plate. Sspread with rubber spatula on bottom and sides. Bake crust at 300º for 1 hour. Turn of heat and leave in oven overnight or until very dry!

FILLING:

Melt chips in microwave slowly-30 seconds at a time-stirring in between. When smooth, cool completely to room temperature. Add 1 cup whipped cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spoon into cooled crust. Put in frig overnight-until ready to serve. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and some chocolate shavings.
