1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp olive oil
6 whole cloves
½ onion, chopped
¼ tsp cumin
1 bay leaf
1½ cups Basmati rice
1 tsp salt
1 cup frozen green peas

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté all of the above ingredients (except peas). Let the onions cook some. Add 3 cups water and boil until you can see rice at the top, then add 1 cup frozen green peas. Cover and cook on low for about 10-15 minutes. Keep an eye on it, because sometimes it will stick.

Serve with any Indian dish. I got this from my friend Helen who is of Indian decent. It is so much better than plain rice with Indian food.
