1 Cup White Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Margarine
3 Eggs (beaten)
4 Cups Flour
1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Vanilla
Filling:
1 Pound Dates
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Cook three ingredients for filling and set aside.
Cream sugar and shortening, then add beaten eggs and mix well.
Add dry ingredients and vanilla and mix well. Chill overnight in a covered container. The next day roll out and cut with cookie cutter. Place 1 tsp or more of filling on top of a cookie, then cover with another and press the edges together
Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
