1/2 Cup Butter
2/3 Cup Sugar
1 Egg (separated)
2 Tablespoon
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup Cocoa
1/4 Cup Salt
16 Vanilla Caramels - 32 for a double batch
3 Tablespoon Whipping Cream
1 1/4 Cup Finely Chopped Pecans
1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
1 tsp. Crisco

Beat butter and sugar. Separate egg and set aside the white. Beat in the egg yolk, milk, vanilla. In another bowl stir together flour, cocoa, salt. Add flour to the mixture. Stir again. Chill for 2 hours
In a small saucepan melt caramels and whipping cream. Set aside to cool. Make dough into balls. Roll in egg white, then chopped nuts. Place on cookie sheet. Use thumb to make an indent in center of cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. After cookies cool, spoon some caramel indent. Make frosting and drizzle chocolate over the cookies.

Put the caramel on after the cookies cool. Use a decorating tube for frosting.
