20 lbs. cherries
2 gallons boiling water
8 lbs. sugar

Directions:
Pour boiling water over cherries. Let stand overnight. Strain through colander. Add sugar. Put in basement. Let it stand until done working. Skim off any skin that might form on top. When done working put in jars and seal.
