Personal Notes:
One of the oldest military organizations in Georgia, the Chatham Artillery existed prior to 1775. The earliest mention of their "suave and deceitful brew", however, was in 1819 when it was considered a worthy refreshment for the President of the United States.

Today, Chatham Artillery members think that party hostesses made up the first punch, then one by one, officers of the Artillery snuck in and added this and that to create Savannah's most noted drink!

Beware! It packs a punch!!
