2 c. Elbow Macaroni
2½ tbsp. Butter, divided
1½ tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
1½ c. Milk
¼ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Black Pepper
1½ c. Cheddar Cheese, shredded (6 oz.)
¼ c. Breadcrumbs, dried, unflavored

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain; Set aside.
2. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a small skillet. Add breadcrumbs. Cook and stir until toasted, about 3 minutes. Set it aside.
3. In a medium saucepan, melt the remaining butter. Add flour. Cook over low heat, stirring consistently for 1 minute.
4. Gradually add milk, stirring consistently, until thickened. Stir in salt and pepper. Remove pan from heat.
5. Add cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted.
6. Stir macaroni into cheese sauce.
7. Spoon onto individual serving plates, then sprinkle with toasted breadcrumbs and serve.
