Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 - raw 9 in. pie shell
Filling:
1 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup to 1 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
1 to 2 cups pecans coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 whole eggs slightly beaten

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients and add the beaten eggs until combined. Pour mixture into raw pie shell and sprinkle with extra nuts as desired. If a deep-dish pie shell is preferred, make another 1/2 recipe of the filling. Cover the edge of the crust with a pie shield or strips of foil. Test for doneness by inserting the tip of a knife halfway between the center and the edge of the filing until it comes out clean. Allow to cool and enjoy this southern favorite.
