2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 t. salt (or less)
2 T. baking powder
2 c. milk
2 egg whites beaten
Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the shortening with the sugar and egg
yolks until creamy. Combine flour, salt and baking powder and add to the shortening mixture alternately with the milk to just moisten the batter. Gently fold in beaten egg whites. Divide batter among well-greased muffin pans. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes
