Mama's Mexican Cornbread Recipe

3 cups self-rising cornmeal
1 3/4 cups milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cups grated cheese (can use cheddar or Velveeta)
1/2 cup cooking oil
3 eggs
1 can cream style corn
3-4 jalapeno peppers well chopped (or to taste)

Mix all together. Bake in a 9x13 pan at 375 degrees for approximately 30-45 minutes.
