3 lbs ground turkey
3 14.5oz cans diced tomatoes
3 15.5oz cans of beans (red kidney, light red kidney or black beans or combination)
2 6oz cans of tomato paste
3-4 cloves of garlic, minced/pressed
Yellow onion chopped
2-3 Green peppers (or mix of red and green) chopped
4 tablespoons Stubbs Original BBQ sauce
2 ½ teaspoons of chili powder
2 teaspoons of cumin
2 teaspoons of creole seasoning
Sprinkle some cayenne pepper
1 ½ tablespoons of Crystals Louisiana Hot Sauce or Frank’s Hot Sauce
Worcestershire sauce (about 4 – 5 shakes)

Brown turkey on stove. Lightly sauté onions and peppers.
Mix all ingredients in crock pot. Cook on low about 6 hours.

I like Stubbs – it is spicier and less sweet than other commercial brands, but readily available in the supermarket.
I sometimes add a little extra for most of the spices than what’s listed above.
Stir occasionally to ensure all ingredients mix well during cooking.
My crock pot runs hot, so I turn it down to warm after about 4 hours.
