½ cup shortening
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vinegar
½ tsp vanilla
¾ cup oatmeal
1¼ cups flour
½ tsp soda
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening and sugars. Blend in eggs and flavoring. Dissolve soda in vinegar. Add to creamed mixture. Sift flour and salt, add to the creamed mixture. Add oatmeal.
Roll in ball, flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 375º until brown.
