2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

4 tablespoons cornstarch

2 large egg, chilled and beaten

2 teaspoons garlic salt (more or less)

2 cups cold light beer

2 dozen jumbo shrimp

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, cornstarch, egg, garlic powder, seasoning salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Whisk in beer until smooth and thick, similar to pancake batter.

Dip Shrimps one at a time. Deep fry until golden. You may need to share the deep fryer with the rice ball fryers

Serve with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce.

Beer batter is a batter for deep frying that is made by adding beer to a mixture of seasoned flour and (sometimes) eggs. The beer adds flavor, helps ensure a beautiful brown color, and the carbonation creates a crispy crust.
