¼ c butter
2 lbs confectioners sugar
2 c cream or milk
⅛ t salt
1 t vanilla

Mix together - enough to ice (2) 8" layers

Variations:

Orange Butter: substitute orange juice for cream. Add grated rind of 1 orange

Chocolate Butter: Melt 1½ oz unsweetened chocolate
