5 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
12 T butter
½ C all purpose flour
2 t salt
2 t sugar
4 C milk
16 ounces Velveeta, cut up
2 ⅔ C 4% Cottage Cheese
1 ⅓ C Sour Cream
4 C (16 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
3 C soft bread crumbs
Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni according to directions, drain, then place into a buttered 5 quart baking dish.

In saucepan melt all but 4t butter. Stir in flour, salt and sugar until smooth. Gradually stir in milk and bring to a simmer then stir until mixture starts to thicken. Reduce heat and stir in cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream one at a time until blended. Pour over macaroni. Mix well in pan.

Butter bread crumbs with remaining butter and then place on top of macaroni. Bake uncovered until breadcrumbs are golden brown.
