1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 T. butter
10 slices bread, cubed
1 1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1/4 t. Accent
1 t. sage or poultry seasoning
1/2 c. chopped celery or 1 can celery soup
1 can chicken rice soup
1/2 soup can of water

Directions:
Brown the onion and celery (if not using celery soup) in the butter in a large saucepan. Add the cubed bread and coat well. In a large bowl, mix the remaining ingredients. Add the bread mixture and mix well. Pour into a well-greased baking dish. Cover and bake 1 hour at 325º.

This is the stuffing Mom always made at Thanksgiving. One year when I was a teenager I complained about the onion and celery, so she made me some without it. It didn't have much flavor and I never complained again. I now love this recipe! I found it in one of Grandma Hengeveld's cookbooks so it originally came from her.
For 22 people I make 4x recipe.
