1/2 cup (113g) water, lukewarm
1/2 cup (113g) milk, lukewarm
2 tablespoons (28g) butter, melted
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
2 teaspoons (12g) salt
4 cups (480g) AP Flour
2 teaspoons instant yeast

Chocolate Icing
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1-2 tablespoons of milk added until you get the right consistency (it shouldn’t be too stiff or too fluid)

Directions:

Mix all the donut ingredients together until combined (do not over-knead)
Let rise covered for around 1 hour until puffy
Put dough into refrigerator overnight to finish rising
When you’re ready to make dump dough onto a heavily floured surface and roll out to about 1/2” thick
Cut into 2” squares
Fry in 3/4” of oil at ~360’F for about 30-60 seconds before turning and another 30 seconds before removing (they should be a nice shade of gold - not brown)

Top with powdered sugar or using the chocolate icing described above
