1 16 ounce bag of dried Black Eyed Peas
8 ounce pack of country ham chips (you only need 1/2 for this save the other it can be frozen)
Water

Directions:
In a large bowl completely cover the dried black eyed peas with water and let them soak for at least 8 hours.
Rinse well after they have soaked.
Put the black eyed peas in crock pot and completely cover with water (about one inch over with water) place half that pack of ham chips in the peas. Put the lid on the crock pot and let cook on low 6-8 hours til done.

You will do the same process with any dried beans. It is the same way to cook dried field peas. Let the soak in water. Then rinse well. Put them in the crock pot with the ham chips. Let them cook on low.
What I would always do would be let them soak all day and cook all night.
No need to add salt its in the ham.
