1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp orange zest
1/3 cup dried cranberries chopped
(I prefer fresh cranberries and I just add what looks right)
2/3 cup finely chopped nuts of your choice (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Place butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and salt in the mixing bowl.
Start mixer on low and gradually increase speed to medium, Beat until light and smooth (3 minutes)
Turn mixer to low and gradually add flour and orange zest until a dough forms.
Add nuts and cranberries and mix until incorporated.
Turn dough onto a clean surface. Roll dough into a log about 18 inches long.
Wrap in plastic wrap and cool in the freezer until firm - at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 325 º
Remove the dough from the freezer and slice into 1/2 inch thick slices.
Place on cookie sheet at least 1 inch apart.
Bake for 15 minutes until the edges turn golden. (check after 10 minutes)
