32 oz bag hash browns, thawed
16 oz sour cream
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 onion (chopped)
2 cans cream of chicken soup OR
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
4 tablespoons butter (melted)
1 cup Ritz crackers, or bread crumbs

If using Ritz crackers, crush them.
Toss the Ritz cracker crumbs or the bread crumbs with 2 tablespoons butter.
Mix all the other ingredients together except the crumbs.
Put it in a 9x13 inch dish.
Top with either the buttered Ritz crackers or the buttered bread crumbs.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours uncovered.
