¼ cup shortening
¼ cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1½ teaspoons vanilla
1⅓ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Mix shortening, butter, and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, and combine thoroughly. Stir in vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and stir into creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet dusted lightly with flour. Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 5 dozen.
