2½ Cups All purpose Flour
1½ tsp Baking Soda
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Ground Clove
1 tsp Ginger
½ Cup White Sugar
½ Cup Unsalted Butter, softened
1 Cup Molasses
1 Large Egg
1 Cup Hot Water

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy. Add molasses and mix until smooth. In a separate bowl sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and beat until fluffy. Put in a 9" square pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until tested done.
