1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter or creamy
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/4 cups flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
16 ounce package of semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until light. Beat in peanut butter, egg and milk. Sift flour, salt, and soda together and add to creamed mixture. Roll out dough on wax 1/2 inch thick. Melt chocolate over hot water and cool slightly. Spread over dough and roll like jelly roll. Chill and slice 1/4 inch thick. Bake 375º for 8-10 minutes.

A good tip for slicing the rolls into cookies is put a sharp knife into hot water and then slice. Another tip is to chill overnight. These cookies are everyone’s favorite but definitely hard to do and get right!
