Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup cold margarine or Crisco
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
Mix dry ingredients. Cut in cold margarine until mixture looks like coarse meal. Lightly mix egg and milk. Add to mixture and stir just to hold dough together. Knead lightly several times on parchment paper dusted with about 2 tablespoons flour. A little more flour may be added if too sticky. Do not over knead or add too much flour as this will cause biscuits to be tough.
Pat dough into a 3/4”rectangular or square shape, cut with a round cookie cutter and bake at 425f, 8-10 min or until done. For best results do not reroll leftovers. They may be carefully patted together.
Split open and serve with strawberries, peaches or your favourite fruit and ice cream.
For biscuits, cut into rectangles and bake as above. Serve with butter, your favourite jam and honey.
