Ingredients:
Ingredients:
MEATBALLS:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1/2 cup (1 sleeve) finely crushed Ritz crackers crumbs (you can use bread crumbs instead of you want)
1/2 cup finely shopped onion
1/2 tsp salt
Lots of fresh cracked pepper
1 egg
2 TBSP olive oil for browning the meatballs.

BOURBON SAUCE
1 cup apricot preserves
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 TBSP hot chili sauce
1/2 cup bourbon
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (I use the sweet and spicy one)
1 TBSP molasses
1/4 cup water

Directions:
Directions:

Set oven to 350º
Mix your meatballs well and form into 1 inch balls, brown the meatballs in the olive oil, working in batches. Transfer them to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until cooked through. (160º)

To make the sauce, combine all sauce ingredients in skillet and bring to a simmer for about 10 minutes until thick, adding meatballs once it gets mixed well.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I cheated last time and bought pre-cooked frozen meatballs from the meat market and they were just as good, and so much less mess.

The key is for the meatballs to sit in the sauce for a long time, whether it’s simmering in a pan together or in a crockpot on low. You can make them the day before and then let them sit together in the fridge and heat up the next day when you need them.
