2 large cans of sliced pineapple in heavy syrup
2 cups sugar
½ cup light corn syrup
3 jars maraschino cherries, drained

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1⅔ cups of the syrup from canned pineapple, sugar, and corn syrup in a heavy skillet. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture boils. Cook until syrup reaches 234 º on a candy thermometer. Add ⅓ of the pineapple slices bring to boil, reduce heat and cook for 25 minutes. Drain on a wire rack. Repeat with remaining pineapple. Add all the cherries (drained) and repeat process.
