"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 pounds COOKED ground meat
1 can diced tomatoes (Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies--great choice)
1 can tomato sauce
1 can of beans (chili or black or kidney or pinto, or mixed---all good choices)
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the meat (at least 2 lbs)
Add in the finely chopped onion while browning the meat
Drain any grease
Then put it into the crock pot
Add 1 can of diced tomatoes
Add 1 can of tomato sauce
Add 1 can of beans (if you use beans, if not you can cook the beans on the stove for those that want to add beans once the chili is made, before you serve it and add the beans to the people that prefer to have beans too)
Add 3 tablespoons of chili powder
Add 1 tsp salt
Add a dash of pepper
Stir all the ingredients and cook on low for 4-6 hours (stir occassionally)
IF YOU ARE USING MORE THAN 2 POUNDS OF MEAT, I WOULD DOUBLE THE RECIPE (so 2 cans of everything, etc)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Some of my family doesn't like beans so depending on the audience I am cooking for, sometimes I cook the beans IN THE CHILI, sometimes I cook them on the stove and add them to those that prefer it!
You can also add tortilla chips, shredded cheese and sour cream (or greek yogurt) on top to dress up the chili!
But it's DELICIOUS served alone!
Grandma DeWitt made this for us and we wrote it down and have been using it ever since! Plus, I love a crock pot meal because it's EASY!!!
