1 chopped onion
1 T. butter
2 lb. ground beef
3/4 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 t. salt
1 t. vinegar
1/2 t. dry mustard
1 T. brown sugar
2 T. lemon juice

Sauté onion in butter. Add beef. Brown lightly. Drain off fat. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer covered for 30 minutes. (or put in crockpot on low for all day).

Variations:
Chili:
1 1/3 cups hamburger mix
1/2 to 1 cup tomato juice
1 can drained kidney beans
2-3 t. chili powder
Mix and heat

Sandwiches
Butter split English muffins. Toast in oven or under broiler. Top each bun with beef mixture and slice of processed American cheese. Cook under broiler until cheese is bubbly
