Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
3 qts water or beef broth,
1 1/2 pounds of cut up veal, browned. Drain fat.
1 1/2 pounds of cut up beef, browned, Drain fat.
2 bunches carrots, cut up
2 large onions, cut up
salt to taste,
1 lemon cut in pieces,

Later add:
1 teaspoon ground cloves,
1 teaspoon pepper,
1 bottle ketchup,
1/2 cup vinegar,
2 tablespoons sugar,
1 lemon cut slices,
3 tablespoons brown sugar dissolved in a little little bit of water.
3 chopped up hard boiled eggs optional to break apart and put on top of the soup

Directions:
Directions:
Put veal, beef, carrots, onions, lemon, and salt in kettle with beef broth to boil for one hour. Remove from heat. Strain the meat and cut up or use meat grinder to chop up meat finely keeping the broth. Put back in the broth. Add ground cloves, pepper, ketchup bottle, vinegar, sugar, lemon, and brown sugar dissolved in a little bit of water. Add to pot boil one hour more. Chopped eggs can be put on top of soup optional.
