1cup margarine,
2 cups brown sugar,
2 eggs,
1/2 cup buttermilk or milk
3 1/2 cups flour,
1 teaspoon baking soda,
1 teaspoon salt,
1 cups finely chopped pecans,
2 cups maraschino or candied cherries,
2 cups chopped dates (red or green) in stores at holidays.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, eggs, and buttermilk or milk. Blend in dry ingredients and the one half of pecans, cherries and dates. Chill for one hour. drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Sprinkle the rest of finely chopped pecans on top. Bake 8 to 10 minutes 400°.
