Cream cheese pastry:
1/2 cup butter,
1 3 ounce cream cheese,
1/4 cup white sugar,
1 1/4 cups flour.

Filling: 1 1/2 cup walnuts,
1 cup chocolate chips,
1 cup flour,
1/4 teaspoon baking powder,
1/4 cup butter,
1/4 teaspoon salt,
1 1/2 cup brown sugar,
2 large eggs,
1 teaspoon vanilla,
1 teaspoon water.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream cheese pastry: Beat together all the ingredients for the cream cheese pastry and spread in 9 x 13 buttered pan.

Filling: put 1 cup walnuts over the pastry and save the rest for last. Then layer chocolate chips over the nuts. Beat the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla and then add flour, baking powder and salt. Spread this mixture over the nuts and chips evenly. then sprinkle the remaining half cup of nuts. Bake 350° for 30 minutes until light brown. Cool and cut.
