3 egg whites,
1/8 teaspoon salt,
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar,
6 tablespoons sugar,

Directions:
Mix 8 egg whites, salt and cream of tartar in a small mixing bowl at high speed of mixer. Beat until soft peak forms. Add sugar gradually beating well after each addition. Continue beating until meringue stands in stiff peaks. Spread over cooled pie filling sealed to the edge. Bake 350 for 12 to 15 minutes until browned.
