Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion amd garlic in a wee bit of butter. Dont use too much butter or you'll get a ring of yellow around the top of the finished product. Take any veggies you have one hand
Brocooli, potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, squash, sweet potatoes, get creative.
Cut up the longest cooking one and cover them with chicken broth, dont be skimpy with the broth. Cook till close to tender. Add your cooked meat of choice. We like sausage, ham or bacon or maybe all three!! ( that would be delish) heat and add spices that appeal to you.
Now when soup is NOT BOILING add a cup or cream or two or three depending on the size of your crowd! ENJOY!!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You will find this recipe easy to adapt to whatever you have on hand
Also things like Brocooli I add right at the end so they are kind crisp still and not mushy! It's pretty flexible!! Always lots of onions garlic and salt, you can't go wrong with simple delights like that:) we also have skipped the cream and added sour cream or cottage cheese to out bowls at the table. Cools the soup (for your husband and kiddos:) and adds some protein and character to your meal.
