2½ cups sifted all purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter
½ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to .400º. Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, salt and soda until smooth. Blend in 2 Tablespoons milk. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with glass dipped in sugar or brown sugar. Bake 12 minutes. Cool. Yield 5½ dozen 2 inch cookies.
