Directions:Add butter and mix. Add sugar and mix slowly and increase speed until smooth. Add eggs one at time and mix after each. Add 3 cups of flour beating after each. Add vanilla extract, baking powder, baking soda and salt to mixture. Mix well together. Add syrup and mix. Add remaining 3 cups of flour and mix well. Take dough out of mixer onto parchment paper and put in plastic bag overnight. Take dough out and place on cookie cutter mat. Place shortening onto baking cookie sheets. (about 3 cookie sheets) Weigh cookie dough to 4 ounce balls or 2 ounce balls for the little ones. You can use a scoop to get ball. Place on cookie sheet pan about 2 inches apart. Gently press down and place in oven for about 12 minutes (8 minutes for 4 ounce cookie) until slightly brown in 350 degrees oven. Take from oven and leave for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and place on rack to finish cooling. Enjoy! |
