1 Stick Margarine (softened)
½ c. brown sugar
½ c. white sugar
2 eggs
⅛ tsp. salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp. cloves
½ tsp. nutmeg
2-2½ c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix margarine, sugars until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs, and spices. Then gradually add the flour. Turn out onto floured counter and work more flour into dough until it is very stiff.
Grease cookie sheet.
Roll cold dough out onto greased cookie sheet in a rectangle making sure entire surface is same thickness and edges are flat. Do this with floured rolling pin. Dough should be ¼" thick.
Place pattern pieces on dough and/or cut out shapes. with a paring knife.
With a floured wide spatula, remove excess scraps. Make sure you leave 2" all around for expansion.
Bake at 350º for 12-15 min. until very lightly browned on edges.
Remove from oven and place on cooling racks. Trim to makes sure pieces are even. Then let cookies set in pan on cooling rack until firm. Then remove with wide spatula to cooling rack.
Use a plate or piece of cardboard as your base. Use royal icing for puting together the pieces.

*This is enough dough to make one gingerbread house.
*It's suggested that you maked templates to cut out shapes.
