2 Amish apple sausages, or your choice of sausage
1 medium yellow onion, diced
3 cups of dry bread crumbs
3 cups of dry cornbread crumbs
18 whole chestnuts, chopped and roasted
1 cup of apple cider
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of celery, diced
3 hard apples, cubed
1 1/2 tbsp. of fresh sage
1 1/2 tbsp of fresh thyme
1/2 cup of fresh parsley
1 tsp. fresh ground pepper
2 cups of vegetable or chicken broth
salt to taste

Brown and crumble sausage. Remove from pan, add butter and sauté onions and celery until crisp and tender (onions are translucent). In a large bowl, toss all ingredients together and bake covered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Bake an additional 15 minutes uncovered.
