4 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. water
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 t. vanilla
chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar, corn syrup and water into a heavy 4 quart pan. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Then cook without stirring until the temperature of 255 degrees is reached. Remove from heat and pour in a fine stream into the stiffly beaten egg whites, constantly beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss. Add vanilla and chopped nuts (optional). Drop quickly from spoon onto waxed paper. May be colored pink or green at this time with food coloring.
