"Silver Turtles" - foil wrapped packets you put on the grill or at the edge of the coals. There are so many ways to make these that I have often thought I would create a chart of four columns: protein, fruits and vegetables, starch and spices. The first column would include the usual hamburger meat and chicken, but you could also include fish and other seafood, ham or pork chops; the second would have green beans and carrots, but also celery, pineapple, peaches; the third is often potato slices, but could include sweet potatoes and corn; the spices could be salt and pepper, but also nutmeg and cinnamon, etc. The girls bring their own protein, and the hostess puts out a smorgasbord of foods from the other columns. (I love this idea because I like to experiment with different foods and flavors.) Maybe you could make such a chart, and illustrate it with a photograph.
