Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. Soak raisins in bourbon for one hour, or overnight is best. Sift dry ingredients into a second bowl and reserve. In a third bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and egg until fluffy. Add flour mixture and blend well until smooth. Mix in, by hand, raisins and bourbon, pecan halves, and candied fruit. Using a kitchen teaspoon, drop batter 1” apart onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake until firm, for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove to racks to cool. Personal Notes:
I have had this recipe forever, hand printed in my recipe box. I had forgotten about it and going through, to update this cookbook, found it. Which made me think of our Lizzie Howard-Gearheart, who we lost over the rainbow bridge this year. She would come and vacation at our house in NC. She was a great fur baby. We loved her!! These are in honor of our Lizzie Lou.
