Old Fashioned Biscuits Recipe

2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 Tbsp. soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in the shortening until crumbly.

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the milk. Using a fork, stir until just moistened. (Dough will be sticky).

On a floured surface, knead dough for 30 seconds or until almost smooth. Roll dough out to 3/4" thick. Cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter.

Lightly grease baking sheet and place biscuits on it. Brush tops with soft butter.

Bake at 475 degrees for 11-15 minutes or until golden brown.
