Ingredients: Eggs (as many as you’d like) Water (for steam)
Preheat air fryer to 250°. Note that air fryers typically have a lower temp range, so we’re aiming for gentler heat. Fill small oven-safe dish or ramekin with small amount of water (¼ - ½ " deep). Place water-filled dish or ramekin in air fryer basket. Crack an egg into small bowl or ramekin. Gently slide egg from bowl or ramekin into water-filled dish in air fryer basket. Try to keep yolk intact. Place air fryer basket back into air fryer; cook at preheated temp for 6-8 min. Keep a close eye on eggs as cooking times can vary. Check eggs periodically. The white should be set, and yolk should still be runny. You can use a spoon to gently lift an egg and check its consistency. Once eggs are cooked to desired level, carefully remove dish from air fryer using oven mitts or tongs. Carefully remove poached egg from water using a slotted spoon. Season poached eggs with salt, pepper, or any other desired seasonings. Serve air “fryer-poached” eggs immediately, perhaps on a slice of toasted bread, an English muffin, or atop a bed of sautéed vegetables. Please note that this method is experimental and might not yield traditional poached eggs’ exact texture. The air fryer’s hot, circulating air may not replicate the gentle simmering of water required for traditional poached eggs. Adjust cooking times and temps based on your air fryer model and personal preference.
