2 1/4 cup cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground clove
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 tbsp. molasses
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix shortening & molasses to soften. Sift in dry ingredients, add 3/4 cup of milk.

Add eggs & remaining milk.

Turn batter into pans. Bake @ 375 for about 25 minutes.
