4½ cups flour, divided
3 tbsp. sugar
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 packages active dry yeast
1¼ cups buttermilk
½ cup water
½ cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1½ cups flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and yeast in a large bowl; set aside.

Combine buttermilk, water, ½ cup butter in a small saucepan; heat to 120º - 130º.

Stir well and add to the flour mixture. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 4 minutes.

Gradually add remaining flour, mixing well.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead 5 - 8 minutes or until smooth and elastic.

Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes or until double in size.

Punch dough down, shape into 1½ inch balls (should be 2 dozen rolls).

Place on greased sheet. Let rise again until doubled.

Bake at 400º for 15 - 20 minutes.

Brush with melted butter. Makes 2 dozen rolls.
