Ingredients:
Ingredients:
5 cups sugar
1 stick of butter or margarine
1 can of Evaporated Milk
1-11/2 cup of pecans (I use some whole, some broken)
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
* Put first three ingredients in a pot (make sure you have enough room in pot for ingredients to boil), turn stove on medium-high. * get your counter ready with wax paper now

*Once the mixture begins boiling stir constantly (it will boil over if not and you will have a big mess) until it gets to “soft ball” stage - drop approx. tsp in small bowl of water and check to see that it makes a ball

*Remove from stove and add vanilla and pecans then continue to stir quickly until it starts to turn thick enough (will start to stick to side of pot)

*Drop by spoonful on wax paper and let cool before serving or putting in containers.
