⅔ cup Shortening or Margerine
2⅔ Cup Granulated Sugar
4 Eggs
1 - 16 oz can pumpkin
⅔ Cup water
3⅓ Cup All Purpose Flour
2 tsp Baking Soda
1½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp ground clove
⅔ - 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
⅔ - 1 cup raisins

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees

Grease loaf pans (makes 2 - 9x5 or 3 - 8x4 loafs)

In Large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

Stir in eggs, pumpkin, and water

In separate bowl, blend flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves.

combine dry ingredients to pumpkin mixture. stir in nuts and raisins if desired.

pour into pans bake about 70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
