Bread Puddng


Ingredients:

8 cups day-old bread, cubed
2 medium apples, cored and cubed
½ cup craisins
4 large eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground allspice
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cardamom
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
2 cups milk
2 cups apple cider

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Lightly grease 9x13” pan.

Combine bread cubes, apple cubes, and craisins in a large bowl.
In another large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and all spices until well-combined. Wisk in milk and cider, then pour mixture over bread cubes. Toss gently with a spatula until cubes are evenly coated.

Let stand for 15 minutes.

Pour into pan and smooth.

Bake for 50 minutes
 

Cider Sauce


Ingredients:

2 Tbsp butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 Tbsp flour1 cup apple cider
¼ cup craisins
Dash nutmeg

Directions:

Melt butter into saucepan over medium-low heat.
Combine sugar and flour.
Gradually stir sugar mixture into butter.
Add cider to saucepan.
Constantly stir until thick.
Add craisins and nutmeg.

Serve with bread pudding
